About ROb
First Degree Head Instructor Rob Bernaudo
The First Degree Jiu-Jitsu head instructor is Rob Bernaudo, a martial arts enthusiast whose passion ignited at just 15 years old with Akido. After a decade of dedicated training, reaching a formidable 3rd-degree black belt, and even becoming an assistant instructor, Rob’s quest for martial excellence led him to the world of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
During this time, he devoted himself to the art and to becoming a high-level Jiu-Jitsu practitioner and discovered a passion for teaching. Rob’s teaching style offers a safe, fun and rewarding environment for all skill levels and backgrounds while fusing modern BJJ training and traditional values in both a self-defence and sport Jiu-Jitsu.
Serving the Community
Beyond his martial arts expertise, Rob has been a firefighter with Fire Rescue Victoria since 2011, equipping him with real-world knowledge in safety, rescue operations, and handling medical emergencies. His resuscitation certification as a first responder and an up-to-date working with children check further solidify the trust and confidence you can place in him.
